1. Definitions 1.1 The "GB64 Collection" and the "database" both refer to the GameBase64 Database of C64 game and music information (in whole or in part), either supplied with this installation, or made available through the GB64 website at http://www.gb64.com/. 1.2 The "offline database" refers to the version of the "GB64 Collection" that is supplied with this installation, in its Microsoft Access (.mdb) format. 1.3 The "GB64 Team" refers to the compilers, authors and copyright holders of the "GB64 Collection", namely Michael Plate, James Burrows, Dimitris Kiminas, John M. Charroux, Matt Larsen, Peter Weighill, Nathan Butcher, Martin Pugh, John Vallender, Steven Feurer, Oliver Stadler, Alessio Viti, Michael Härtig, Matthew Allen, and Pete Rittwage. 1.4 The "GameBase Frontend" refers to the GameBase Emulator Frontend and Database Utility (c)1999-2013 James Burrows, obtainable from http://www.bu22.com/ and http://www.gb64.com/. 1.5 The "GB64 Website" refers to the GameBase64 Website at http://www.gb64.com/. 2. Licence 2.1 The GB64 Collection is owned and copyrighted (c)1998-2023 by the GB64 Team. The GB64 Team grants the right for you to use the GB64 Collection exclusively for your own personal non-commercial purposes provided that the database is only viewed, accessed or amended via the GameBase Frontend (or Microsoft Access [any compatible version]), and that the database is only viewed or accessed via the GB64 website. You are entitled to make backups and copies of the offline database, and in doing so you acknowledge that each copy or backup you produce follows the same licence laid out in this document. 2.2 You acknowledge that the GB64 Collection is for your own personal use only. You are NOT allowed to reproduce all or any part of the GB64 Collection and make it publicly available, unless you have the express written permission from the GB64 Team. 2.3 You are free to distribute ONLY the offline database, providing that you adhere to the following rules: - i) The offline database is NEVER allowed to be distributed with any C64 (or other) game or rom files. ii) The offline database is distributed in its unmodified form and it must include this licence document fully intact and unchanged. iii) You may not charge, sell, auction, lend, lease or trade the offline database neither privately nor publicly and neither as a standalone database nor as part of a larger compilation of data or software, unless you have the express written permission from the GB64 Team. iv) You cannot include the offline database in any commercial CD/DVD-Rom compilation or any other commercial Media compilation unless you have the express written permission from the GB64 Team. v) In any such copying/distributing, all copyright messages and notices pertaining to the GB64 Team must be kept intact and the URL pointing to the GB64 Website must be included with the distribution. 2.4 You may not incorporate, or make available, the GB64 Collection (in whole or in part) into programs or computer software systems or websites developed by or used by you, without the express written permission from the GB64 Team. 2.5 If you wish to add the GB64 Collection (and the associated information including ANY unique image file checksums) to a renaming tool and distribute or publicly release it, you must agree with and abide by the following conditions:- i) You must have an option to rebuild the GB64 Collection with the original image filenames linked to the GB64 Collection database. This option doesn't have to be the default but the option must be available and documented. Having a zip file (or similar archive) with two seperate databases - one to rebuild with full names and one to rebuild with the GB64 filename is NOT acceptable. ii) Any rebuilt files must contain the nfo file as well as the image. iii) The database used must ONLY rename the images contained in the official GB64 releases. ie. You must not sully the GB64 Collection with unchecked images! 3. Disclaimer 3.1 The GB64 Team are in no way responsible for any damage, loss or costs that the installation or use of the GB64 Collection (or attempted installation or use) may cause you or your computer equipment. Installation and use of the database is entirely at your own risk. The database comes with no guarantees and is provided on an 'as is' basis. The GB64 Team makes no guarantees on its soundness, accuracy, reliability or suitability for any given purpose.
